Begin by getting all the necessary supplies ready and make sure everything is clean.

If you do not have a hot plate, make a water bath or bain-marie using a stove and a shallow pan.

Weigh out all your ingredients and combine each phase in a separate heat-resistant measuring beaker.

Note the weight of Phase A including the measuring beaker, so that we can top up the evaporated water after heating.

Start by heating Phase A and B.

Check the temperature of both phases, it should be 75 degrees Celsius.

Once the temperature is equal in both phases, weigh Phase B and add water to reach the weight noted earlier.

Carefully pour Phase B into Phase A and stir until it is well mixed.

Stir gently while measuring the temperature.

At 40 degrees Celsius, add Phase C and D.

Once the emulsion is thick, measure the pH and adjust it if needed with an acid such as a sodium bicarbonate solution or a base such as a lactic acid solution. It should be around 5 - 5.5.

Add Phase F and stir until it is well mixed.

Put it into a jar and stick a label on your creation!

Usage
