This oil is currently being harvested at François's farm in Portugal. Each batch is different, as the composition depends on the season, the weather and the moment of harvest. Once the harvest is in, the GC-MS analysis follows and we'll share the full composition.

Based on the GC-MS analysis by CESAM, University of Lisbon.
The soul of eucalyptus. Gives that characteristic cool, sharp scent that refreshes the air in your home — beloved for centuries in aromatherapy and home fragrance traditions.
Adds a light, uplifting citrus note on top of the eucalyptus. Enhances the sharpness of cineole and rounds out the profile.
These monoterpenes provide the herby, pine-like backbone. Together they form the distinctive Mórtola signature.
Based on François's story
Thymus mastichina grows wild in the dry scrubland of the Alentejo. François farms organically, without synthetic fertilisers or pesticides. The thyme grows in harmony with the other aromatic plants on the land. The poor soil and harsh climate actually make the plant more aromatic.

The flowering tops are distilled with steam on the same day, right on the farm. The remaining plant material is composted and returned to the soil. The plant feeds the ground that will grow the next generation of thyme.

Every batch is sent to Esseterre Bulgaria for GC-MS analysis. This tells us exactly which compounds are present and at what concentration. An oil whose composition you can look up yourself.

No middlemen, no long storage chains. The oil goes directly from the farm to Natural Heroes. You know exactly where the oil comes from and who made it.

The Farm to Table line features six organic essential oils. Discover them here:
Warm, ambery and herbaceous with a bitter edge. Has an astringent effect on the skin and is a classic in natural perfumery.
Warm, herbaceous and honey-sweet, very different from ordinary lavender. Reminiscent of dried lavender baking in the sun.
Herbaceous and softly floral with a warm, gently citrusy undertone and a hint of pine. Very different from the Italian Helichrysum italicum.
Warm and herbaceous, like a field of rosemary in the sun. Gives the scalp a fresh boost and blends easily with almost any other oil.
Invigorating, fresh and beautifully rounded. Not as sharp as regular eucalyptus, but an oil that instantly awakens your senses.
Surprisingly fresh and eucalyptus-like, without the sharp thymol of common thyme. Blends beautifully with almost all other oils.

Start with a small amount and build up slowly — Spanish Thyme is surprisingly intense. Follow the instructions of your diffuser.
No, essential oils should always be diluted in a carrier oil (jojoba, almond, coconut). Maximum 1% in a carrier oil. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.
Do not use on babies and young children. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, consult your midwife or doctor first. Do a patch test if you have sensitive skin. The oil naturally contains linalool, limonene and 1,8-cineole, known allergens.
Wild-harvested Spanish Thyme has a naturally varying composition with each harvest and season. Plantation oil is more uniform and less expensive, but lacks that natural variation per harvest. We love the difference — that's what Farm to Table is all about.
Because it's the honest way to be transparent about what's inside a bottle. At Natural Heroes, we believe you as a customer deserve access to the same information we have. Hence Farm to Table — open book, from leaf to bottle.
The Alentejo is dry, warm and sunny — exactly the growing conditions that lead to a high concentration of aromatic compounds. Different soils produce different ratios. Mértola gives Spanish Thyme its characteristic profile with that fresh, eucalyptus-like softness.
The farm lies in the heart of the Alentejo, the dry south of Portugal. All six oils grow here in the wild. No greenhouses, no irrigation, no artificial fertilisers. That's why each oil smells slightly different from season to season. That's what Farm to Table is all about.
