What is Juniper?
Juniper Essential Oil is a powerful oil extracted from the berry-shaped cone fruits and branches of Juniperus communis. This coniferous tree grows throughout the northern hemisphere and sometimes extends into subtropical regions. The distinctive grey-green trees are most commonly found in the beautiful coniferous forests of Asia and Canada.
Since the berries take 2 to 3 years to ripen, a single tree bears both dark blue ripe berries and green unripe berries at the same time.
How to Use Juniper Essential Oil?
Never use more than 1% essential oil and always dilute it in a carrier oil or butter. For example, 1 ml juniper essential oil in 100 ml almond oil or shea butter. Apply the oil as a massage or facial oil as needed to cleansed skin. Juniper has a purifying character and is therefore popular in skincare for impure skin.
You can also mix a few drops into your shampoo for a wonderful scent and nourished scalp!
It is also common to diffuse a few drops of essential oil in a diffuser for a lovely warm feeling. The fresh scent is delightfully herbal with a hint of pine needles and provides an uplifting sensation.
