Manuka - the secret of the Maori

The indigenous people of New Zealand, the Maori, have been using the manuka bush for centuries for its beneficial properties. The essential oil is obtained through steam distillation of the branches, leaves and flowers of the manuka bush, while leaving the mother plant intact.

Manuka oil has strong cleansing properties. Recent research has shown that manuka essential oil is up to 33 times stronger than tea tree essential oil, which means it can effectively support your skin with, for example, excessive sebum production and impurities, for an even skin tone.

Use

To optimally benefit from the amazing properties of this essential oil, dissolve 1 to 2% of the manuka essential oil in a carrier oil. Applying essential oil directly to the skin without dilution is not recommended. Additionally, essential oils evaporate quickly and dry out the skin significantly when not dissolved in a carrier oil, which also makes their effectiveness much less.

For example, add 1 to 2 ml manuka essential oil to 100 ml jojoba oil and massage this into your cleansed skin where needed, morning and evening.

To support the scalp, you can also add a few drops to your shampoo.
