Patchouli - natural care for skin and hair
Patchouli oil was widely used as perfume during the hippie era, and for good reason: the powerful sweet-spicy scent is very alluring and therefore ideal as an air freshener or addition to a shampoo or cream. In addition to the wonderful aroma of the oil, it also possesses fantastic properties that help keep skin and hair soft and supple.

Base notes form the foundation of a blend. They develop slowly and remain present for hours to days. Patchouli is the classic oriental base note, with an earthy, sweet-spicy depth that anchors other scents and only becomes fuller with age.
Patchouli essential oil is like a fine wine: the quality improves as it gets older. Over the years, the oil becomes thicker, stronger, and more aromatic - definitely worth keeping a bottle in your cupboard.
Usage
Always dilute essential oil when using on your skin in a carrier oil or butter, such as almond or jojoba oil, and use no more than 1ml essential oil per 100ml carrier oil.
Apply the diluted oil where needed on cleansed skin. You can also add a few drops of patchouli essential oil to your shampoo. Instead of fabric softener, you can use a splash of vinegar and a few drops of patchouli oil - this makes your laundry delightfully soft and gives your wardrobe a lovely scent.
Use this oil in a diffuser or scent block to spread a wonderful fragrance. To use the essential oil in a bath (which is absolutely lovely), mix a few drops of patchouli oil with a neutral bath gel or bath oil.
