There is plenty in the stores that "works," but why would you want to spray aluminum, alcohol, or synthetic perfume under your arms?

With the luxurious scent of Vanilla, Sage, and Bergamot, it is also a pleasure to apply. Sensitive to essential oil? Then choose the neutral version!

Myrica Fruit Tea

Also called Bayberry, it is a vegan alternative to beeswax. It gives the deodorant a silky texture and luxurious spreadability. It also forms a thin film layer on the skin, protecting it from external influences.

Berry Wax

As a co-emulsifier, Berry Wax ensures that the butters, oils, and powders in the deodorant mix excellently with each other. Additionally, it gives the deodorant a rich yet powdery skin feel.

Zinc ricinoleate

This is a natural ingredient that effectively removes (unpleasant) odors. Zinc ricinoleate provides a minimum of 24-hour protection, is gentle on the armpits, and is a perfect alternative to baking soda.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil slows down sebum production, making it ideal for people with oily skin. This is because the composition of Jojoba closely resembles the sebum that our skin produces.

Mango Butter

The butter is rich in antioxidants and cares for rough and chapped skin. This butter is also unique because it strongly helps to purify the skin.

Deodorant powder

This powder consists of an ultra-fine form of Magnesium Hydroxide and Magnesium Carbonate Hydroxide. They are heroes in absorbing sweat and ensure pleasantly dry underarms. Additionally, they increase the pH of the deodorant, providing long-lasting reduction of body odors.

Arrowroot Powder

Maybe you already know this natural powder because you use it to thicken your soup? Well, it's also a real hero in cosmetics. It absorbs sweat and sebum like the best and also makes your skin nice and soft.

Rosemary extract

A natural antioxidant that helps against odors and ensures that the deodorant oxidizes less quickly, thus remaining shelf-stable for longer.

Fresh Balance EO Blend

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I stop sweating?

No, you don't stop sweating. This is not an antiperspirant and does not block your sweat glands. You will notice that you continue to sweat during exercise (but don't smell). Sweating is healthy and helps the body eliminate waste products. Bacteria cause it to smell bad. This deodorant ensures that these bacteria don't get a chance, so you keep sweating but don't smell. Cool, right?

How does the Fresh Balance smell?

The variant with the Fresh Balance blend smells fresh, sweet, and not too feminine. The Vanilla predominates (so not the synthetic vanilla scent you might know from perfume). This scent is also suitable for men. The natural variant smells very neutral to almost odorless. All natural oils have a very subtle scent. The only way to be completely odorless is to use refined raw materials, something we prefer not to do.

How long do I last with a jar of 30 ml?

With daily use, this jar lasts about a month (sometimes longer).

How does it spread?

Our deodorant is easy to apply and therefore also easy to wash off your hands. Washing with a little hand soap and water is enough to make your hands grease-free again. Although we also often hear that it's nice to spread the remnants over your hands like a kind of hand cream, after all, it is made from natural ingredients and is therefore safe to leave on your hands.

Does it also protect during sports?

Yes, this deodorant will also combat odors during and after exercising. It depends on the individual whether you need to reapply a bit. Our experience is that even after you start smelling slightly of old sweat, applying this deodorant completely removes the odor (and does not just mask it).

Can I also use the NO BS Deo as a foot deo?

Certainly, our deodorant is suitable for applying under your armpits and your feet and everything in between.

Does my body need to "detox" when I start using this deodorant?

If you have been using spreadable (waterless) natural deodorant for a while, your body probably doesn't need to adjust to this deodorant.

Did you use an antiperspirant with aluminum for this, or a natural brand (water-based) that contained alcohol or perfume? Then it might be that your armpits need a moment to adjust before the deodorant works.

The idea of "weaning off" aluminum in the context of deodorant or antiperspirant use is technically not entirely true, in the sense that there is no physiological dependence on these substances in the human body.

But when you switch from traditional antiperspirants (which contain aluminum salts that reduce sweat production) to natural deodorants that do not contain these salts, you may experience a temporary increase in sweat and body odor. This is sometimes interpreted as a "detox period."

In reality, however, this is simply the body's natural sweating process functioning normally again after the removal of the sweat-blocking effects of aluminum salts.

Alongside synthetic forms of aluminum, there is also a natural form called alum stone powder (mentioned as "potassium alum in the ingredients list)

If you switch from a deodorant with alum stone powder to this deodorant, you may initially experience a period where you feel like you are sweating more or have more body odor than usual. This is because your body is adjusting to the change in how your sweat and body odor are regulated.

I used to use a deodorant in the form of a spray based on water, does this work the same?

Some natural deodorants are formulated with a water base. This works differently on the skin than our oil-based deodorant.

The benefits of an oil-based deodorant vs a spray are:

No unnecessary large plastic packaging due to the volume of water.
No preservatives due to the presence of water.
No wet armpits!

But, it may be that when you switch from a spray deodorant with water to a spreadable deodorant without water, the flora of your skin needs to get used to this and reacts differently.

In a water-based spray deodorant, there are often astringent ingredients such as alcohol, perfume, witch hazel, and phenoxyethanol. These substances dry out the skin, and as a result, your armpits feel drier and odors are counteracted.

The No BS Deo does this in a much gentler way, but your body may need some time to adjust to it.

This might mean that you feel the deodorant doesn't work the first few days, but hang in there! Give your body a chance to get used to this nurturing deodorant before you toss it aside.

Why is there no Baking Soda in this deodorant and why is there Magnesium Hydroxide instead?

Although both Baking Soda and Magnesium Hydroxide are basic, they have a different effect on the skin. Magnesium Hydroxide remains more on the surface, does not dissolve, and changes the skin's pH less.

Baking soda raises the local pH on the skin, is easily absorbed, and can cause a reaction more quickly upon contact with moisture and oils, irritating the skin.

The low solubility and larger particles of Magnesium Hydroxide make it much milder and more skin-friendly than Baking Soda.

Uhh my deodorant is purple? Is that supposed to be?

No worries! That's correct! Through the magic of chemistry, our deodorant turns purple after sitting for a few days! This is due to a reaction between magnesium hydroxide and the essential oils.

The effect is still exactly the same. If you have received a deodorant that is still yellow, it was probably made that very day, so you have an extra extra fresh batch. Usually, it turns purple within 2 days.

Are you also going to develop an antiperspirant?

Certainly, we are always looking for natural alternatives to regular products. We are currently investigating whether a natural ingredient can be found in nature that can safely stop sweat production. Once we find it, you'll of course be the first to know!

I want a different scent, can I add it myself?

If you want to personalize this deodorant, you can also make it yourself with us DIY Package and add your favorite essential oil. Or make it in bulk with our recipe and give all your friends their own favorite scent.

Is the No BS Deo safe during pregnancy and breastfeeding?

Yes, you can continue to use our No BS Deo with peace of mind during your pregnancy and breastfeeding period. Just make sure to choose the No BS Deo - Natural. The Fresh Balance variant contains Sage Clary, and even though it is a very small percentage of 0.25%, professionals advise against using Sage Clary during pregnancy. The Natural variant works just as well and contains no aluminum or other harmful substances and is specially formulated with mild, natural ingredients.
