Myrica Fruit Was

Also called Bayberry, it is a vegan alternative to Beeswax. It gives the lip balm a silky smooth texture and luxurious spreadability. It also forms a thin film layer on the lips to protect them from external influences.

Candelillawax

This solid vegan wax is a plant-based alternative to beeswax, often used in lip balms and cosmetics for its hard texture and soothing properties. It forms a protective barrier on the lips that retains moisture and prevents drying out.

Cocoa butter

Cocoa butter is edible and thus a fantastic ingredient in a lip balm. Due to its nourishing properties, cocoa butter helps smooth fine lines on the lips, provides natural protection in all weather conditions, and gives your lip balm a chocolate flavor.

Shea Butter

The queen of butters could not be missing in this lip balm. Shea Butter is a natural conditioner for the lips. It intensely hydrates, softens dry and chapped lips, and helps improve the elasticity of the skin on the lips for a fuller and healthier appearance.

Castor Oil

This rich, viscous oil is pressed from the seeds of the castor oil plant and is known for its soothing and moisturizing properties. It gives the lip balm extra shine and hydration.

How does the plumping effect of the lip balm work?

A drop of peppermint oil is incorporated into the lip balm. This oil contains the component menthol. Menthol creates a tingling sensation that temporarily makes your lips appear fuller by causing the blood vessels to dilate and draw more blood to your lips. This causes your lips to swell slightly and become redder, which we call the "plumping" effect. The effect lasts for about an hour or until you eat again.

How does the lip balm smell?

The version with Peppermint and Sweet Orange smells like peppermint with a hint of citrus and cocoa butter. The natural variant smells like cocoa butter, so nice!

How long do I use a lip balm?

How long you use a lip balm with daily use can vary greatly depending on several factors, such as the amount of product you use each time and how often you apply it throughout the day. On average, if someone uses a lip balm two to three times a day, a standard lip balm can last 1 to 3 months.

How does it spread?

Our lip balm is nice and creamy and easy to apply without feeling sticky. It keeps your lips hydrated all day long and is suitable for multiple applications.

May I also use this lip balm in the sun?

Sure, this lip balm is suitable for both winter and summer. However, if you are looking for a product that prevents sunburn, such as when skiing or lying in the sun for a long time, we recommend using a lip product with SPF to protect your lips from burning.

Can I also use the lip balm on my face or body?

The natural variant is actually an all-purpose balm in a stick and suitable for applying on dry spots. Ideal for on-the-go or on vacation!

The peppermint and orange variant gives a tingling sensation on the lips and thus also on the face and body. If this is your thing, it is still safe.

Don't I just get drier lips from lip balm?

Some regular lip balms with paraffin (mineral oil) and fragrance can actually make your lips drier. Paraffin seals your lips, preventing them from getting air and nutrients, and fragrance can irritate your lips. If you use more, your lips may seem better at first, but they eventually become drier. Our Buttery lip balm is different because it is made from natural waxes, butters, and oils. These ingredients truly soften and care for the skin of your lips without drying or irritating them. So don't worry, and apply generously!

Can I take the lip balm to the beach on vacation?

Yes, in principle, the lip balm should be able to handle this but be careful:

do not place the lip balm in direct sunlight or in something that absorbs heat (a black bag or clothing).
store the lip balm in the shade and make sure no water can get to it (the casing is quite sturdy but ultimately made of cardboard)

And further...use your common sense, a blazing hot rental car in the middle of summer survives no lip balm. :)

Can I put the lip balm in my pocket?

Yes, this won't do any harm. The casing is basically sturdy enough and the lip balm won't immediately melt in your pocket.

I want a different scent or color, can I add that myself?

If you want to personalize this lip balm, you can also make it yourself with us. DIY Package and add your favorite essential oil. Or make it in bulk with us recipe and give all your friends their own favorite scent.

The plumping lip balm contains sweet orange, is it not phototoxic?

No, sweet orange is not phototoxic. It does not contain furocoumarins, the component that triggers phototoxicity on the skin when exposed to the sun.

Furocoumarins are mainly found in pressed citrus oils but not in all.

The following citrus essential oils arenot phototoxic and you can safely incorporate into a lip balm:

No, even after multiple uses, the lip balm is still caring and nourishing.

How long is the lip balm shelf life?

If stored dry and cool, the lip balm is usable for 12 months after opening.
