What is Melt and Pour Soap?

Melt and Pour Soap is a ready-to-use, plant-based soap base enriched with nourishing shea butter. The base is created by saponifying plant oils and adding extra glycerine for a wonderfully soft skin feel. You cut the base into chunks, melt it, add your favourite colours or scents, and pour it into a mould.

The scent is neutral, lightly creamy and clean. This means any fragrance works beautifully with it, from fresh citrus to warm vanilla.

This base cleanses without drying out the skin. Glycerine attracts moisture, while shea butter with its rich fatty acids leaves skin supple and comfortable. Perfect for DIY soaps, gifts or a cosy creative session at home.

How do you use Melt and Pour Soap?

Melting: Cut into small chunks. Melt in a double boiler on low heat or briefly in the microwave. Do not boil, just melt until liquid.

Scent: Add 0.5-1% essential oil and stir gently.

Colour: Add a few drops of liquid dye, mica or some clay powder. Stir well until the colour looks even.

Extras: Want extra care? Add 1-3% plant-based oil or butter. Dry additions like oatmeal or herbs: maximum 1 tablespoon per 100 g, so everything stays nicely distributed.

Pouring and setting: Pour into a clean mould. Let set completely until firm. Unmould and store dry; wrapping in foil helps keep the soap looking nice.

What makes Melt and Pour Soap so special?

The base contains extra glycerine, a real moisture magnet. This means the soap can sometimes get small droplets on the surface in humid air. This "sweating" is completely normal and shows exactly why the soap feels so wonderfully soft on the skin. Wrapping or storing it dry prevents it.
