Instructions
1
Bring water to the boil in a thick-bottomed pan and hang a melting pan in it or place a glass measuring beaker in it. As soon as the water boils, turn the temperature down so that it does not bubble.
2
Put the Shea Butter and Olivem 900 together in a heat-resistant bowl and melt this au bain-marie at 65–70 degrees until everything is completely liquid and even.
3
Take the bowl off the heat, stir the oat powder through it until the mixture is smooth and then add the Jojoba Oil and Roasted Coffee Oil. Stir well again, the mixture now smells lovely of warm coffee.
4
Cool the mixture back down to hand-warm (below 40 degrees).
5
Now add the Rice Bran Oil and stir well. After this, add the Vitamin E and stir everything well.
6
Place the bowl uncovered in the refrigerator and let the mixture cool down until it clearly thickens and takes on the texture of thick apple sauce; if you run a spoon through it a trail briefly remains visible that slowly closes up again.
7
Now whip the mixture with a hand mixer until it visibly becomes lighter in colour, gains more volume and has an airy, creamy texture.
8
Put the whipped mixture back in the refrigerator briefly until it feels a little firmer but is still easily spreadable.
9
Spoon the body butter into a dish and let it stand at room temperature for several hours to a whole night so that the texture can fully stabilise.
10
Spoon the body butter into a glass jar or put it in a piping bag and pipe it with a nice swirl into a glass jar.
