Instructions

Make sure all the supplies are ready and that everything is nice and clean.

Put a pan with a centimetre of water on medium heat if you do not have a hot plate.

Weigh out all your ingredients. Put Phase A (water) into a heat-resistant measuring cup and Phase B (Vegetal and calendula oil) into a separate heat-resistant container.

Heat Phase A (water) and B (Vegetal and calendula oil). In the meantime, get Phase C (Calendula CO2, essential oil and vitamin E) and Phase D (Sodium PCA and Geogard ECT) ready.

Once the Vegetal in Phase B has melted, measure the temperature.

Phase A (water) and B (vegetable and calendula oil) should be at 75 degrees Celsius or differ by a maximum of 5 degrees Celsius from each other.

Turn off the heat and remove the two cups from the pan.

Pour Phase A (water) into Phase B (vegetable and calendula oil) and mix with a stick blender to emulsify. Blend for about 10 seconds or until the mixture turns white.

Keep mixing with a spatula until it cools down.

Measure the temperature and once it reaches 40 degrees Celsius, add the remaining ingredients.

Pour in Phase C (Calendula CO2, essential oil and vitamin E) and mix until well combined.

Pour in Phase D (Sodium PCA and Geogard ECT) and mix until well combined.

Gently stir the cream until you reach room temperature.

Measure the pH. Use an acid such as lactic acid solution to lower the pH or a base such as sodium bicarbonate to raise the pH until you reach the desired pH of 5.0 to 5.5.

Put it into a jar and label your creation.
