What is Calendula CO2-to Extract (Organic)?
Similar to an essential oil, this Calendula CO2-to Extract is a beautiful ingredient in DIY skincare products for sensitive skin. Mix it into massage oil, day cream or create your own body lotion.
Calendula CO2-to Extract is made from the calendula flower (calendula officinalis) and is similar to an essential oil. Using high pressure without heat, a beautiful extract is obtained from these cheerful flowers. The result is an extract full of active ingredients, including myristic acid, palmitic acid and carotenoids.
Calendula CO2-to Extract is highly concentrated and must always be diluted in a base oil before use on the skin. Looking for a milder variant that you can use directly on the skin? How do you use it?
Calendula CO2-to Extract is highly concentrated, which is why it is important to always mix the extract with a base oil such as Jojoba Oil or Sweet Almond Oil. You can also use the extract as an ingredient in DIY skincare products. It is important that your final product contains no more than 10% Calendula CO2-to Extract.
At lower temperatures, the extract may solidify. Gently warm the bottle in a shallow layer of warm water (not too hot) to make the extract liquid again.
What makes it so special?
Calendula flowers have been used for ages: from oils to infusions and from tinctures to salves. The beautiful orange flowers are also used as a natural dye for fabrics and you can even eat the organic flowers (because of its strong concentration, this CO2-to Extract is not intended for consumption).
