Does your dry, itchy and sensitive skin need some extra care when cleansing? This gentle body wash is made to cleanse the skin without removing the natural oils that your skin needs to stay healthy. It contains colloidal oatmeal and chamomile, both of which are known for their soothing action on the skin. It offers a very gentle exfoliation, helps to calm the skin and has an anti-inflammatory effect. A lovely addition to your bath products!

Make sure all your items and equipment are ready and that everything is clean. Get your stove and pan ready if you do not have a hotplate.

Measure out all your ingredients. Combine each phase in a separate heatproof container/beaker.

Note down the weight of phase B, including the container, so that we can top up the evaporated water after heating.

Heat phase A and B together until both are 75 degrees Celsius.

Combine phase C and D. Mix well.

Measure phase B and add water to reach the previously noted weight. When the temperature is equal in all phases, then turn off the heat.

Carefully pour phase B into phase A and stir until it is well mixed.

Pour the combined phases C and D into the bulk of the formula. Stir gently until it is well mixed.

When the temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius, gently stir phase E and phase F through. Mix until you reach room temperature.

Measure the pH. Adjust if necessary with a base or acid solution until the desired pH of 5-5.5 is reached.

Leave it to stand overnight in the beaker. Cover with a reusable cloth or cling film.

Mix well before you pour it into a squeeze or pump bottle.
