Instructions
Begin your ritual with a clean workspace. Make sure all your supplies and weighed-out ingredients are ready. This brings calm to the process.
Heat a thin layer of water in a pan (bain-marie). Put the 44.5 grams of water and the Coco Glucoside together in your heat-resistant measuring beaker and place it in the pan. Gently heat this mixture until it is about 45 degrees.
Remove the measuring beaker from the heat. Now add the SLSA powder to the warm mixture spoon by spoon. Stir patiently and calmly after each spoon until all the powder has dissolved and there are no more lumps.
In a separate measuring beaker, mix the Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Decyl Glucoside and the demineralised water (or hydrosol). Then add this mixture to your first mixture. Stir everything calmly. We want a smooth gel, not a foam party.
Mix the essential oil with the preservative and the glyceryl caprylate/caprate in a separate measuring beaker and stir well.
Add this mixture to the whole and stir well again.
Finally, we check the pH value. It should be between 5.0 and 6.0, the natural acidity of your skin.
Dip a pH strip into the gel to measure the value.
To adjust the pH, use a 10% solution of citric acid or lactic acid (in demineralised water) to lower the value, or a 10% solution of sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) to raise it.
Always add a maximum of 1 drop at a time, stir well and wait at least 1 minute before measuring again. The pH does not react immediately, so take your time to check before adding another drop. Work carefully to avoid over-adjusting.
Usage
Shake well before use.
Pour a small amount onto your hand, washcloth or sponge. Let it foam, massage gently over your skin and rinse off well. Preferably store in a pump bottle in a dry place.
