Make sure all your tools and equipment are ready and make sure everything is sanitised.

Bring water to the boil in a thick-bottomed pan or use a hot plate.

Weigh out all the ingredients from each phase into a separate heat-resistant measuring beaker.

Heat Phase A until the Greenfoam Needles have completely dissolved and a smooth paste forms. Take it off the heat.

Add Phase B and note the weight including the measuring beaker so that we can top up the evaporated water after heating.

Put your measuring beaker back in the pan of boiling water or on the hot plate. Stir the combined Phase A and B until the paste has completely dissolved.

Take it off the heat, weigh and add the missing water. Add Phase C.

Cool the mixture back down to 40 degrees and then add Phase D and E. Mix everything in well together.

Measure the pH. Use an acid such as lactic acid to lower the pH or a base such as sodium bicarbonate to raise it until you reach the desired pH of 4.0 to 4.5.

Now you are going to thicken the mixture with salt. Use fine sea salt for this. In this recipe you may add a maximum of 2% of the total weight in salt. In this case that is 2 grams. Add the salt bit by bit in small steps of 0.3 to 0.5 grams. Let the mixture rest in between stirring. The mixture should now be thickened; if this is not the case, you have probably added too much and you will have to start again.

When you are done, transfer it into a bottle with a pump and label your creation.
