This rich propolis balm is a little miracle pot for the sensitive skin of me and my children. The base of Organic Beeswax, creamy Shea Nilotica and Mango Butter lays a protective layer on the skin and nourishes it intensively. The addition of Sweet Almond oil soothes itchy or irritated skin, while Castor oil deeply nourishes and supports recovery. The real power comes from Calendula Extract that further softens the skin and Propolis Tincture that strengthens the skin barrier. It has become my home-made, loving all-rounder for dry patches, chapped cheeks and all the little skin discomforts.

Instructions
Make yourself a nice cup of tea, put on some music if you like and make sure your workspace is calm and clean.
Put a pan of boiling water on and hang a melting pan above it.
Do you prefer to work with a measuring beaker? Then make sure it is heat-resistant. Place the measuring beaker in a layer of boiling water or directly on a suitable heating plate.
Start by weighing out the Beeswax and put this in your melting pan or measuring beaker.
While the Beeswax is gently melting you can weigh out the butters into a separate dish.
Once the Beeswax has melted completely you can add the butters. These will now melt in easily thanks to the warmth of the Beeswax. Do not let the butters get too hot, they do not like that.
While the butters are melting you can weigh out the oils. Start with the Sweet Almond and then the Castor oil. Add both oils to your melted wax/butter mixture.
Take the measuring beaker/melting pan off the heat and let it cool down to below 40 degrees while stirring continuously. Do not have a thermometer? If the mixture feels slightly warmer than your hand, you are good.
Now add the Calendula extract. This is a very syrupy substance, so use a glass stirring rod and a small spatula to get it off the stirring rod. Do you notice that it does not mix well? Then put your mixture back into the warm bath for a moment.
Finally, add the Propolis Tincture and the Vitamin E Oil and stir well.
Cool the mixture down further until it starts to look like thick vanilla custard.
Pour your lovely home-made balm into a beautiful amber-coloured glass jar and label it.
Enjoy your home-made miracle pot.
