Facial cleansing is an important part of our skincare. Every day we cleanse our face and there are countless ways to cleanse your face. As well as using facial cleansers or cleaners you can also cleanse your skin with an oil. We call this Oil Cleansing. Curious how to do it? In this blog you can read all about cleansing your face with oil.
To care for your skin properly, it is of course important to cleanse your face every day. It helps to remove any make-up, dirt, sweat and excess oil. Good facial cleansing can help to prevent skin problems, so it is definitely important not to skip it.
But what makes a good facial cleanser? Just as with all skincare products, it is important that a product is gentle and contains no irritating substances. A facial cleanser should clean the skin without drying it out. Does your skin feel dry or tight after cleansing? Then you can assume that the product is not suitable for your skin!
There are many different ways to cleanse your face, depending on your skin type and preferences! You can use a facial cleanser, make your own micellar water or cleanse your skin with an oil.
Oil cleansing is a natural way to cleanse the skin using (a combination of) oils. But how can oil remove dirt if it is an oil itself? It works on the principle of 'like dissolves like', which means oil can remove dirt and excess oil from the skin. Using oils has many different benefits. It helps to hydrate and soften the skin and can be effective at reducing pimples and blackheads. Yes, oil cleansing is even very suitable for oily and blemish-prone skin!
Warm a small amount of oil between your hands.
Gently massage the oil into your face, particularly in the T-zone (forehead, nose and chin).
Use a lukewarm, damp flannel to remove the oil from your face.
Rinse your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry with a clean towel
After this you can apply your skincare

There are several oils that are suitable for Oil Cleansing. Each oil has its own unique properties and benefits for the skin.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba Oil is similar to our own skin oils (sebum) and is therefore suitable for all skin types. It can help to hydrate and soften the skin.
Coconut Oil
Coconut Oil is rich in fatty acids and is ideal for removing dirt and excess oil from the skin. It is especially suitable for people with normal to dry skin.
Almond Oil
Almond Oil is light and hydrating, which makes it ideal for people with sensitive or dry skin. It also contains vitamin E, which helps to soften and strengthen the skin.
Olive Oil
Olive Oil is rich in antioxidants and can help to hydrate and soften the skin. It is especially suitable for people with normal to dry skin.
Argan Oil
Argan Oil is rich in vitamin E and antioxidants and can help to hydrate. It is suitable for all skin types, but can be particularly nice for people with dry or sensitive skin.
Castor Oil
Castor Oil is a strong cleansing oil and is therefore especially suitable for normal to oily skin. If your skin is too dry or sensitive, using castor oil may be too intense and lead to irritation.
You can choose a single oil to cleanse your face with, or create a combination of different oils. Every skin is different, so experiment to see which oils work best for your skin. Which oil will you choose to cleanse your skin?
