Tropical Lush Body Cream

This cream is inspired by plants from the tropics and protects the skin against external influences. Instructions

1
Make sure all your tools and equipment are ready and ensure everything has been sterilised.
2
Bring a layer of water to the boil in a heavy-bottomed pan or use a hot plate.
3
Weigh out all your ingredients. Combine each phase in a separate heat-resistant measuring beaker.
4
Note down the weight of Phase A including the measuring beaker, so that we can top up the evaporated water after heating.
5
Heat Phase A and B.
6
When Phase B has completely melted, weigh Phase A and top up the lost water content until you reach the desired weight as noted earlier. You may add a little more water so that less is lost during evaporation.
7
Check the temperature. Both should be 75 degrees Celsius or at least within 5 degrees Celsius of each other.
8
Add Phase C to Phase B followed by Phase A and mix with a stick blender. Pulse for 5-10 seconds or until it turns white, which is an indication that the mixture has emulsified.
9
Turn off the heat and remove the measuring beaker from the pan. Stir until it cools down.
10
When the mixture has cooled back down to 40 degrees, add the ingredients from Phase D and E.
11
Mix gently until the mixture has reached room temperature. (+- 20 degrees)
12
Measure the pH. Use an acid such as lactic acid solution to lower the pH or a base such as sodium bicarbonate solution to raise it until you reach the desired pH of 5.0 to 5.5.
13
Put it into a jar or a bottle with a pump and label your creation.
