Instructions
Start with a clean workspace and take a quiet moment for yourself. Get all the supplies and weighed-out ingredients ready.
Combine all the ingredients of Phase A (shea butter, mango butter, broccoli seed oil, rice bran wax, glyceryl caprylate/caprate) in your heat-resistant measuring beaker.
Gently heat this mixture in a bain-marie. Stir gently every now and then until all the butters and the wax have fully melted into a beautiful, golden-yellow liquid (around 75°C).
Remove the measuring beaker from the heat. Now comes the attentive part: keep stirring the mixture gently and continuously as it begins to cool down. You will see it slowly change colour and thicken.
As soon as the mixture feels hand-warm (below 40°C), it is time to add the vitamin E and your chosen essential oil. Stir everything well one last time.
When the butter takes on the texture of a thick custard, carefully pour it into your tin. Let it set completely at room temperature before putting the lid on and admiring your creation.
Usage
For the best result, apply this product to damp hair. Divide your hair so that you can apply the product evenly. Take an amount of hair butter the size of a pea. A little is already enough. Warm it up between your hands or fingers and apply it starting from the ends of your hair. Work upwards from there by scrunching your hair. Avoid the scalp to prevent your hair from becoming heavy.
Once the product is applied evenly, you can define your curls by twisting them with your fingers. Style it however you like. Let it air dry or use a diffuser to style your hair.
If you want to refresh your curls, take a very small amount of butter, rub it between your fingers and gently smooth or scrunch it into dry hair.
