Instructions

Make sure you have all your supplies and equipment ready and that everything is properly clean.

Set your hob and pan with an inch of water over medium heat if you do not have a hot plate.

Measure out all your ingredients.

Combine and mix each phase in a separate container. Use a heat-resistant beaker or glass for Phase A (water) and Phase B (cetyl alcohol, Biosmooth, Bioquat, glyceryl caprylate/caprate, shea butter).

Combine Phase C (vitamin E, essential oil and Geogard ECT) and set it aside.

Heat Phase A (water) and Phase B (cetyl alcohol, Biosmooth, Bioquat, glyceryl caprylate/caprate, shea butter).

Once Phase B is fully melted, check the temperature. Both should be between 75-80 degrees Celsius.

Turn off the heat. Add Phase A to Phase B and mix with a stick blender. Pulse for 5-10 seconds or until it turns cloudy, which indicates that the mixture has emulsified.

Remove the beaker from the pan.

Stir with a spatula until it cools down.

When the temperature is at 40 degrees Celsius, start adding Phase C.

Mix gently until you reach room temperature.

Measure the pH. It should be between 4.0 and 4.5.

Use an acid such as lactic acid solution to lower the pH, or a base such as sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydroxide solution to raise it, until you have reached the desired pH.

Pour it into a bottle with a pump and label your creation.

Apply to damp hair. Focus on the lengths and the ends and let it soak in for 10-15 minutes. Rinse well with lukewarm water. For the best result, you can use this hair mask weekly.
