Instructions

Make sure all your tools and materials are ready and that everything has been cleaned. Make sure your stove and pan are ready if you do not have a hotplate.

Measure out all your ingredients. Combine each phase in a separate heatproof glass/beaker.

Note the weight of phase B, including the beaker, so that we can top up the evaporated water after heating.

Heat phase A and B together until they are both 75 degrees Celsius.

Combine phase C and D. Mix well.

Measure phase B and add water to reach the previously noted weight. When the temperature is equal in all phases, turn off the heat.

Carefully pour phase A into phase B and stir until everything is well mixed.

Add the combined phase C and D to the bulk of the formula. Stir gently until everything is well mixed.

When the temperature reaches 40 degrees Celsius. Carefully stir phase E and phase F through. Mix until you reach room temperature.

Measure the pH. Adjust if necessary with a base or acid solution until the desired pH of 5-5.5 is reached.

Leave it to stand overnight in the beaker. Cover with a reusable cloth or cling film.

Mix well before you pour it into a squeeze or pump bottle.
