Rose-Scented Day Cream

The floral scent of this day cream is so seductive that it spontaneously makes you romantic. Lavender and Rose Water care for the skin in a mild way and give it a substantial boost of hydration! Calendula oil has hydrating and nourishing properties, which calm the skin and set the self-healing capacity of the skin in motion. Rosehip Oil helps to reduce fine lines and together with the Rose Geranium and Lavender Essential Oil this oil ensures the improvement of the skin structure. The cream is in principle suitable for all skin types, but especially dry and mature skin will benefit from it.

For your information: We make 110 grams of this recipe because we need to set some aside for testing the pH.

We are going to heat the ingredients in 2 phases. For this you need 2 measuring cups or 2 melting pots. The 2 measuring cups can be placed in a pan with a thick base with 3cm of warm water. Hang both melting pots above their own saucepan with water. Make sure the water is nice and hot, but not boiling.

Mix the Glycerine with Xanthan Gum on a small dish until a sort of pale-yellow translucent paste forms.

Mix the Lavender Water and Rose Water together in a measuring cup or melting pot.

Mix the Calendula Oil with the Vegetal Montanov 68 in another measuring cup or melting pot.

Heat both cups or pots until they are 70 degrees. The water will take slightly longer than the oil. Is one of the two getting too hot? Then take it off the heat for a moment.

Add the Rosehip Oil to the oil mixture once it is 70 degrees and heat it briefly along with the rest.

Once both mixtures are 70 degrees you can add the oil mixture to the water mixture while stirring. Stir well during mixing.

Now add the Glycerine with Xanthan Gum to the mixture and mix further with an electric hand mixer or mini whisk.

Now let the mixture cool down to below 40 degrees while stirring.

Test the pH of your cream by mixing 1 gram of the cream with 9 grams of demineralised water. Dip the pH strip into your diluted cream and check whether it is between 3 and 8. If so, you can add the preservative.

Add the Preservative Eco to your cream and stir well.

Measure the pH again by mixing 1 gram of cream with 9 grams of Demineralised Water. The pH value for the skin should come out at 5.5. Is the pH too low? Then add a Baking Soda solution to raise it (90% demineralised water + 10% Baking soda). Do this drop by drop with a pipette. 10 Drops is often enough for a 0.5-1 rise in pH. Is the pH too high? Then do the same, but with Citric Acid (10% Citric Acid + 90% Demineralised water). Each time make a dilution of your cream of 1 gram with 9 grams of demineralised water until the correct pH is reached.

Now add the Vitamin E, Rose Geranium, Lavender and Lemon FCF-free Essential Oils to your day cream and stir.

Use the cream daily on your face in the morning or whenever you like. Apply the cream after watery serums and before oils, balms or butters. Enjoy your own creation!
