Basic Lotion

Have you just started with DIY? Great fun! With this basic lotion you are always in good shape. The Olivem 1000 mixes water-based and oil-based ingredients, so that you get a nice lotion. With this lotion you can endlessly vary yourself. Add your favourite ingredients and essential oil and make a lotion, especially for your skin!

Heat the demineralised water in a measuring cup or melting pot

At the same time, heat the MCT Oil with the Olivem in another measuring cup or melting pot.

Once the water and the oil are both 70 degrees, take the pots off the heat.

Add the oil to the water while stirring.

If you have used melting pots, pour the mixture over into a glass or measuring cup.

Keep stirring until the mixture is below 40 degrees, doing this over an ice bath if necessary.

Once it is below 40 degrees you add the preservative. Stir well again.

Add the Essential Oil and stir.

Measure the pH and make sure it is at 5.5. Please note, you will have to dilute the cream in a separate bowl for the correct measurement - see this tutorial for how to do this.

Pour over into a bottle and place in the fridge for an hour and your lotion is ready.

Please note: Some emulsifiers need a day to stabilise, so your cream or lotion will look even better tomorrow.
