Instructions

Make sure you have all your supplies and equipment ready and that everything is properly clean.

Set your hob or pan with an inch of water over medium heat if you do not have a hot plate.

First prepare Phase A (cationic guar gum, water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine).

Heat the water to 45 degrees Celsius.

Very slowly add the cationic guar gum while stirring gently and continuously.

Once you have added all the gum to the water, use a small electric mixer to mix the solution well.

Remove from the heat and leave it to stand for about 30 minutes to 1 hour to fully hydrate the gum.

Once it is fully hydrated, mix in the Cocamidopropyl Betaine.

Once that is done, turn your hot plate or hob back on.

Measure out all the other ingredients. Use a heat-resistant container for Phase B (Bioquat natural conditioner liquid, glyceryl caprylate/caprate, cetyl alcohol, olive oil). Set Phase C (decyl glucoside) aside in another container.

Combine and mix Phase D (vitamin E, essential oil and Geogard ECT) in a separate container. Set aside.

Heat Phase B (Bioquat natural conditioner liquid, glyceryl caprylate/caprate, cetyl alcohol, olive oil) to 75 degrees Celsius.

Once everything is fully melted, remove it from the heat.

While stirring Phase A (cationic guar gum, water, Cocamidopropyl Betaine) with a spatula or glass rod, slowly add Phase B (Bioquat natural conditioner liquid, glyceryl caprylate/caprate, cetyl alcohol, olive oil) until it is fully combined.

Once the mixture is fully combined, slowly add Phase C (decyl glucoside) and keep stirring.

Keep stirring until the mixture has cooled down.

Add Phase D (vitamin E, essential oil and Geogard ECT) and stir.

Measure the pH. It should be between 4.0 and 4.5.

Use an acid such as lactic acid solution to lower the pH, or a base such as sodium bicarbonate or sodium hydroxide solution to raise it, until you have the desired pH.

Pour it into a bottle with a pump head and label your creation.
