A moment of calm, in our busy lives... Isn't that sometimes exactly what we need? And how better to do this than with a warm and relaxing bath. And the perfect addition to this lovely bathing ritual? The natural bath bomb!

Essential oils contain the "chi" of plants.

Bath bombs based on natural ingredients are different from "regular" bath bombs in many ways. They contain no synthetic perfume but luxurious essential oil blends. Essential oils contain the "chi" of plants, in other words their life energy. The aromatherapeutic effect of each blend is unique. You can choose from 4 different scents: Night Night helps with a good night's sleep, Tropical Zest with brightening your mood, Bombshell to awaken your feminine power and Fresh Balance to find your balance again. Or go for a mix set if you can't choose!

But… why not regular bath bombs then?

You can find bath bombs literally everywhere, in all sorts of colours and scents, from neon pink to black with glitter, in wacky shapes and with a variety of fragrances. Great fun! But not all of these bath bombs contain ingredients that are kind to your skin.

Usually synthetically manufactured substances are used that are irritating to the skin. That's why we've added a colourant made entirely from natural plant extracts.

We've also used mild soap ingredients for a wonderfully gentle yet rich foam. Responsible bathing, in other words!

6 Synthetic substances you want to avoid in your bath bombs

Artificial colourants
Some artificial colourants can cause skin irritation and allergic reactions. They can also contribute to water pollution when they end up in the environment, as they are often not biodegradable.

PEGs (Polyethylene Glycols)
The main safety risks when using PEGs in bath bombs, for example, are related to the production process and the by-products that arise from it.

Phthalates
Phthalates can have hormone-disrupting effects and lead to various negative health problems.

Synthetic Fragrances
Often referred to as "fragrance" or "parfum", these are synthetic scents. Many synthetic fragrances can cause allergic reactions and skin irritation.

Parabens
These are preservatives used to extend the shelf life of cosmetic products and to prevent the growth of mould and bacteria. Parabens can disrupt the hormone balance by behaving like oestrogen in the body. They can also be harmful to the environment because they are not easily biodegradable.

Sulphates (e.g. SLS and SLES)
Sulphates such as sodium lauryl sulphate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulphate (SLES) are cleansing agents and foam makers that are widely used in regular bath bombs. Sulphates can dry out and irritate the skin. They are also harmful to aquatic organisms when they end up in the environment, because they are difficult to break down.

Indulgence free of nasties.

One of the biggest benefits of natural bath bombs is that they are free from synthetic substances and harmful chemicals. Traditional bath products often contain ingredients that can irritate the skin or even pose health risks. This is actually quite contradictory. Something used for relaxation and wellness should also be good for your health, right? Natural bath bombs are made up of safe, natural ingredients that are gentle on both your skin and the environment, so you can indulge free of nasties, as it should be!

How do you use the natural bath bombs?

Grab a book, put on some music and get ready for a lovely wellness moment. Run a bath with nice warm water and lie back in it. Let the bath bomb sink gently into the water. Enjoy the fizzing effect and the lovely scents that are released. Relax and let the nourishing ingredients do their work, leaving your skin feeling soft and hydrated.

4 Tips for the perfect bathing experience

  1. Set the right mood: Dim the lights, light a few natural candles, and put on your favourite calming music.

  2. Temperature: Make sure your bathwater is at the perfect temperature - not too hot, not too cold.

  3. Hydration: Don't forget to keep a glass of water or herbal tea to hand. Stay well hydrated inside and out!

  4. Relax: Let your bath bomb work its magic and enjoy… this is your moment of calm!

Get to know the ingredients

Citric acid

INCI: Citric Acid

About this ingredient
Citric acid is a plant-based acid that occurs naturally in citrus fruits and is fully biodegradable.

Why is it in the bath bomb?
Citric acid reacts with baking soda in water, releasing carbon dioxide gas and creating the fizzing effect. Citric acid is also a mild peel for the skin and makes the bathwater slightly acidic, which helps to soften and cleanse the skin.

Baking soda

INCI: Sodium Bicarbonate

About this ingredient
Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, is a mildly alkaline salt

Why is it in the natural bath bomb?
The main reason baking soda is included in the bath bomb is to create the characteristic fizzing effect. When baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) is combined with citric acid and exposed to water, a chemical reaction takes place. This reaction produces carbon dioxide gas, which creates the fizzing and foaming effect that makes bath bombs so popular. In addition, it helps to remove dirt and oil from the skin, so your skin feels clean and fresh after the bathing ritual!

SLSA

INCI: Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate

About this ingredient
SLSA is a mild foaming agent derived from coconut oil. Unlike some more aggressive cleansing agents, such as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), SLSA is much milder and does not irritate the skin and eyes.

Why is it in the natural bath bomb?
SLSA helps bath bombs create a rich foam when they dissolve in water. This makes it a lovely addition to the bath bombs. Despite its mildness, SLSA still provides effective cleansing by removing oil and dirt from the skin. SLSA ensures the bath bomb cleanses gently without drying out or irritating the skin. This is especially important because baths often last a long time and you don't want your skin to feel dry or irritated afterwards.

White clay

INCI: Kaolin Extract

About this ingredient
White clay is a soft clay that is rich in minerals. It is one of the mildest and most versatile types of clay

Why is it in the natural bath bomb?
White clay has the property of drawing impurities, excess oil and dirt out of the skin. This leaves your skin feeling clean and fresh after bathing. In addition, white clay has a soothing effect on the skin, which is lovely for even the most sensitive skin types! White clay is rich in minerals such as silicon, calcium, magnesium and zinc. These minerals are needed by the skin; they help with the repair and maintenance of a healthy skin barrier.

Sweet almond oil

INCI: Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis Seed Oil

About this ingredient
Sweet almond oil contains a lovely mix of fatty acids, mainly oleic acid, linoleic acid, but also palmitic acid and stearic acid. It also contains vitamin E and A.

Why is it in the natural bath bomb?
Thanks to the various fatty acids, the oil can penetrate deep into the skin. This helps to hydrate, nourish and soften the skin for a long time, which is lovely after a bathing ritual! The oil has a softening and soothing effect on the skin, which helps to reduce irritation and redness. The oil makes the bathwater silky soft and creates a real spa experience. It helps to create a noticeable softness on the skin, making the bathing experience even more pleasant.

Witch Hazel

INCI: Witch Hazel Water, Alcohol

About this ingredient
Witch Hazel (Hammamelis Virginiana) is a shrub that occurs naturally in North America and Japan. The leaves, twigs and bark of the shrub are distilled into a water that we know as 'witch hazel'.

Why is it in the natural bath bomb?
In the bath bomb, various dry ingredients such as baking soda, citric acid and clay are mixed together. These dry ingredients need to stick together to create a firm bath bomb. Witch Hazel helps to bind the dry ingredients of the bath bomb and ensures the bath bomb stays firm but also breaks apart easily when it comes into contact with water. The small amount of alcohol evaporates completely during drying. So you won't find any of this in your bath bomb.

Essential oil blends

Various blends

About this ingredient: Essential oils are extracted from plants and have aromatherapeutic properties. For our bath bombs we have formulated 4 new blends that we are so proud of! Curious which ones these are?

  • The lovely, fresh Fresh Balance with Vanilla, Sage and Bergamot is an energetic blend that grounds you in the moment

  • The floral, sweet Bombshell with Rose Geranium, Vanilla and Cardamom is a sensual blend that makes you feel utterly feminine.

  • The purifying Night Night with Sage, Lavender, Chamomile and Petitgrain is a calming blend that reduces stress and promotes sleep.

  • The fresh, sweet Tropical Zest with Ginger, Coconut, Lime, Lemon, Yuzu and Lemongrass, an invigorating blend that calms and brightens your mood.

Natural colourant

Various colours

About this ingredient
The colourants we use are 100% natural and made from natural clays and plant powders. The colourants trace their origin to the ancient knowledge of the Maya. Thanks to their knowledge of their environment and local materials, the Maya knew how to create inorganic-organic hybrid pigments.

Why is it in the natural bath bomb?
To create the beautiful scent of the bath bomb.

Dried flowers

Various flowers

About this ingredient: the dried flowers are 100% natural; we have dried Rose Petals, Eucalyptus, Chamomile or Lavender.

Why is it in the natural bath bomb? They make the bath bombs look fantastic!
