Avocado - a true superfood for your skin

It's no secret that the avocado is one of the healthiest fruits. Avocados contain a uniquely high amount of minerals and are real vitamin bombs; they are a good source of potassium, magnesium, vitamin A, B1, B2, B6, C, E and folic acid (B11). Furthermore, this Central American fruit consists largely of monounsaturated fatty acids that are incredibly good for you. And for your skin too! You can make wonderful face masks with it, but working in the bathroom with pureed avocado is quite a hassle. Much easier is to use the oil that is extracted from the fruit flesh. This refined avocado oil is neutral in scent and lighter in color than the unrefined avocado oil.

The large amount of vitamin A and E in avocado oil work as powerful antioxidants and support your skin, boost collagen production and help prevent premature skin aging. The oil contains a lot of the substance called sterolins, which particularly helps in softening the skin and preventing age spots. Furthermore, it's an extremely good moisturizer and soothes your dry (scalp) skin. Due to the many antioxidants, the oil also helps with sunburned skin and is an ideal after sun.

How can I use avocado oil?

You can best apply the oil after showering or on cleansed skin, so that the oil can absorb well and locks in moisture for beautifully hydrated and nourished skin. Preferably before sleeping, so that the oil can do its work properly at night, when your skin is recovering. Optionally use a little of the oil also under your normal day or night cream and on spots that need extra attention, such as wrinkles, age spots or dry areas. To use the oil as after sun, apply a thin layer directly to your skin after sun exposure.

Mix the avocado oil with 1% essential oil of your choice for a lovely scent!

If you want an intensive hair and scalp treatment for super soft hair, you can apply the oil to damp hair before going to sleep and wash it with shampoo the next morning. For a quicker boost, apply the oil to your hair ends and/or scalp just before showering, let it work for a moment and then wash as usual.
