Instructions
Make sure you have a clean, calm workspace. Carefully weigh out all the ingredients before you begin.
Put all the dry powders of Phase A (Epsom salt, baking soda and cornstarch) into the larger mixing bowl and stir them together well.
In a separate, small bowl, mix the ingredients of Phase B (the Eucalyptus essential oil and the sunflower oil).
Add the oil mixture (Phase B) to the powders (Phase A). Mix everything very thoroughly with a spoon or your fingers until a crumbly texture forms without any lumps.
Now carefully add the citric acid (Phase C) and gently mix it through the whole mixture.
Now use the Witch Hazel (Phase D) to bind the mixture. Spray a very small amount over the powder and mix straight away. Repeat this until the mixture has the consistency of damp sand and clumps together when you squeeze it in your hand.
Scatter some eucalyptus leaves into your mould before filling it with the mixture. Use a muffin tin as a mould or you can also use your hands to make a flat round shape.
Remove it from the mould and place it on a tray to dry for at least 24 hours.
Store your creations in a sealed jar in a dry, dark place to preserve their potency.
Usage
Place the shower steamer somewhere the water droplets can touch the fizzing ball to activate it. Do not place it directly under the shower. The idea is to slowly release the scent of the essential oil so that you can breathe it in while showering. Breathe in and out deeply and slowly to reduce the tension in your body.
