Instructions

Make sure all your materials are clean and disinfected and ready to use.

Set a saucepan with a heavy bottom and a thin layer of water on the stove and bring it to a boil.

Weigh all ingredients carefully and prepare each phase in a separate heat-resistant measuring cup.

Heat phase A (CocoFoam SCI needles and cocamidopropyl betaine) in the water bath until the needles are completely dissolved and a smooth paste forms. Then remove the measuring cup from the pan.

Add phase B (demineralized water) and note the weight including the measuring cup, so you can top up any evaporated water later.

Place your measuring cup back in the pan with boiling water and stir phases A and B until the paste is completely dissolved.

Remove the measuring cup from the pan, weigh again and top up with the missing water. Then add phase C (glycerine).

Cool the mixture back down to 40 degrees and then add the Preservative Eco from phase E. Mix everything well.

Check the pH; it should be between 4.0 and 4.5. Use a 10% solution (in demineralized water) of citric acid to lower the pH or a 10% solution of baking soda (in demineralized water) to raise it. Always add a maximum of 1 drop at a time, stir well and wait at least 1 minute before measuring again. As a guide, for 100 grams of mixture, 1 drop changes the pH by approximately 0.1 to 0.15 pH units on average.

Now you will thicken the mixture with the fine sea salt from phase F. You can add a maximum of 2% of the total weight in salt, in this case 2 grams. Add the salt bit by bit in increments of 0.3 to 0.5 grams and let the mixture rest between stirring. The mixture should now thicken. If it doesn't, you have probably added too much salt and need to start over.

Done? Pour into a bottle with a pump and label your creation.

Usage

Squeeze a generous amount of cleanser onto a dishcloth or sponge. If using a brush, you can squeeze the cleanser directly into the container (feeding bottles, cups, etc.). Rinse thoroughly with water.
