What is Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) Essential Oil?

The lightly sweet, cool scent of peppermint clarifies and refreshes. Diffuse the oil near your desk for motivation and focus or during your meditation to let go of worries more easily. Peppermint also has an invigorating effect on the body.

Peppermint (Mentha Piperita) is the most well-known species of the mint family and therefore carries the most typical 'peppermint' scent. Unlike Mentha Arvensis, Mentha Piperita smells less sharp and milder, but is certainly no less effective! The oil is obtained by steam distillation of the leaves.

How do you use it?

Process in DIY skincare product or diffuse in the diffuser.

In the diffuser

Diffuse 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil with 4 drops Lime Essential Oil and 2 drops Basil Essential Oil for a clear, uplifting atmosphere at home!

Steaming to breathe more freely again

Fill a large bowl with hot water and add 2 drops Peppermint Essential Oil and 2 drops Eucalyptus Essential Oil. Hang over it with your head and cover your head with a tea towel. Breathe deeply in and out for 10 minutes and you will notice that you breathe much more freely (be careful not to burn yourself on the steam)!

What is so special about it?

Peppermint is one of the oldest medicinal herbs that exists, peppermint has been found in Egyptian tombs from more than 1000 years BC. But also in Europe, China and Japan, the use of peppermint has an extensive history, the herb has been used for years for all kinds of ailments. Peppermint can grow up to 1 meter high and gets purple flowers.
