Description
What is Rose Powder?
Rose Powder is made from dried rose petals, such as Rosa damascena or Rosa centifolia. The petals are carefully dried and then finely ground into a soft powder, without solvents or additives.
The color ranges from delicate light pink to deep romantic red. The scent is subtly floral with a light honey-sweet note and a fresh undertone.
Roses have been central to beauty rituals for millennia. Cleopatra was known for her baths in rose-scented water, and in Ayurvedic tradition, rose is considered cooling and balancing, connected to the heart chakra and used to calm both skin and mind. In Persian and Moroccan hammam culture, rose powder has been mixed with clay and rose water for centuries as a gentle skin treatment.
On the skin, the powder feels wonderfully mild. The fine particles provide a gentle scrub, while natural tannins and polyphenols can help contribute to calmer skin. Ideal for DIY face masks, scrubs, soap, or bath products.
What are the benefits of Rose Powder?
Gentle exfoliation
The fine particles remove dead skin cells without damaging the skin. The skin feels immediately smoother and softer.
Skin feels calmer
Tannins from roses can help contribute to a calmer skin feel. Great for skin that reacts easily.
Fresher appearance
Polyphenols can help support skin against external influences. This can reduce a dull, tired appearance.
Refines skin texture
The slightly astringent action makes skin look optically smoother. The skin looks more even and less shiny.
Adds natural color and scent
The powder gives a soft pink tint and subtle rose scent to your product. No synthetic additives needed.
Gentle enough for sensitive skin
Without harsh scrub particles or acids. Suitable for regular use without irritating the skin.
How do you use Rose Powder?
Face: Mix 1 teaspoon with 1–2 teaspoons of water, hydrosol, or yogurt until a paste forms. Let sit for 5–10 minutes and rinse off.
Masks: Use 2–8% and mix first with a little glycerin for a smooth result.
Scrubs: Use 3–10% in an oil or gel base. Mix first with oil or glycerin and then add.
Soap: Use 1–5% and add at light trace. Mix beforehand with a little oil to prevent lumps.
Bath products: Use 5–15% and mix well. Stir or shake before use.
Note: Not soluble in water. Always mix well or shake before use.
What makes Rose Powder so special?
