What is PolyAquol™️-2W?

PolyAquol™️-2W is a natural oil-in-water (O/W) emulsifier, which helps to properly blend water and oil in skincare products. It ensures that creams and lotions achieve a stable, soft and easily spreadable texture without separating.

This natural emulsifier is produced with plant-based polyglycerides and fatty acids, making it a natural and biodegradable ingredient. It contains no synthetic substances like PEGs or silicones.

PolyAquol™️-2W can bind up to 22% oil and forms stable gels with a high water content, such as 95% water and 5% PolyAquol™️-2W. It works well together with thickening agents like Xanthan Gum and remains stable.

What are the benefits of PolyAquol™️ -2W?

Restores the Skin Barrier
PolyAquol™️ -2W helps to strengthen the skin barrier and reduces trans-epidermal water loss (TEWL), allowing the skin to stay better hydrated. By working on the lipid layers of the skin, it supports the natural moisture balance and provides soft, smooth and hydrated skin. This makes it very suitable for dry and sensitive skin types. This emulsifier also absorbs very well into the skin and leaves no greasy layer behind.

Creates stable emulsions
One of the most important functions of PolyAquol™️-2W is stabilizing oil-in-water (O/W) emulsions. This means it perfectly blends oil and water and prevents the phase from separating or the cream from becoming watery. This creates a homogeneous, creamy and long-lasting stable emulsion without requiring additional stabilizers.

PolyAquol™️-2W can form stable emulsions with up to 95% water and only 5% emulsifier, making it ideal for:
- Light and fresh face creams and lotions
- Watery gels and serums that absorb quickly
- Care products with a high hydration content

This property makes it an excellent choice for non-greasy, well-absorbing formulas that hydrate the skin without leaving a heavy or sticky feeling.

Even suitable for the most sensitive skin
PolyAquol™️-2W is non-irritating and therefore perfect for people with sensitive skin who easily experience redness or irritations. Also very suitable for baby care, such as mild creams and lotions for the skin of our smallest heroes.

It has a mild effect and does not disturb the natural balance of the skin, unlike some synthetic emulsifiers.

How do you use PolyAquol™️ -2W?

This special emulsifier can be added to both the oil and water phase, at a temperature of 75°C-80°C. Add 1-5% PolyAquol depending on your formula (3-5% in creams or lotions).

• Oil phase: 0 to 20%: the more oil, the higher the viscosity of the finished product.
• Water phase: 75 to 100%.

Stability is maintained at a pH of 4 - 9. The higher the pH value, the lower the viscosity.
