Description
This Malic Acid, also known as Apple Acid, is a water-soluble Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and can be processed into homemade skincare products such as serums and creams.
What is Malic Acid?
Malic Acid, or apple acid, is an Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) that occurs in certain types of fruit and wines. Apple acid is a mild acid and therefore has a very light exfoliating effect. Just like all other AHA's, apple acid provides hydration to the skin, reduces moisture loss and strengthens the skin. A fine addition to your DIY cream!
What are the benefits of Malic Acid?
Exfoliates the skin
Apple acid removes dead skin cells and stimulates cell renewal. The result? Fresh and radiant skin. Please note: regular exfoliation can make the skin somewhat more sensitive to sunlight.
Makes other acids more effective
When you combine apple acid with other acids, the effect of these acids will be enhanced.
How do you use Malic Acid?
Add 1 to 2% to your cream. Or make your own power serum with lactic acid or glycolic acid!
