What is Hazelnut Oil (Organic & Cold-pressed)?

Hazelnut Oil (INCI: Corylus Avellana Seed Oil) is an exceptionally light "dry oil". This means it is directly absorbed by the skin without leaving a greasy layer behind. This makes it the ideal oil for combination, oily and sensitive skin.

Where does Hazelnut Oil come from?

Our organic hazelnut oil is extracted from the nuts of the Hazel tree (botanical name: Corylus avellana), a large shrub or small tree that is native to Europe, including the Netherlands!

How is Hazelnut Oil made?

First, the raw, organic hazelnuts are carefully selected and shelled. Then they are mechanically pressed under low temperatures. No heat or chemical solvents are used. This pure, mechanical process ensures that the delicate nutrients, such as Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, are optimally preserved in the final oil.

Balances Oily skin
Hazelnut oil is known for its mild astringent properties. It helps regulate sebum production and refine pores. Because it is non-comedogenic (does not clog pores), it is perfect for balancing shiny skin.

Protects & Softens
The oil is rich in antioxidants such as Vitamin E, which protect the skin against free radicals and help slow down skin aging. It hydrates and softens the skin, which helps reduce fine lines.

Weightless Hair Care
This light oil nourishes the hair, tames frizz and gives shine without weighing it down. It is ideal for fine hair and even helps keep colored hair vibrant longer.

Absorbs incredibly fast
Because the oil absorbs incredibly fast, it is not a suitable oil for a long massage. It is however a fantastic carrier oil to transport essential oils quickly and effectively into the skin, for example in a face serum.

How do you use it?

Use it as a daily serum, as a base for your DIY skincare products or as a light hair oil.

Face serum
Apply 2 to 3 drops morning and evening to cleansed skin. It absorbs directly and works perfectly as a mattifying primer under makeup.

Hair oil
Warm 1-2 drops in your palms and distribute through the ends of your hair to prevent frizz and add shine.
