Gather a large mixing bowl, a whisk, a fine sieve and an airtight storage container with a capacity of at least 2.5 litres. Make sure everything is bone dry, including your scales and work surface. Moisture is the biggest enemy of this powder.

Weigh all ingredients carefully. Put on a dust mask, fine powders create dust and you don't want that in your lungs.

Would you like to add a scent? If so, first mix the essential oil into the GreenFoam powder until there are no wet spots left. This prevents clumping and ensures the fragrance distributes evenly throughout the powder.

Add all the powders together in the mixing bowl and mix well with the whisk for at least 2 minutes. Scrape the bottom and sides to ensure there are no layers remaining.

Sift the mixture all at once into your storage container. This breaks up any remaining lumps and ensures your powder is perfectly smooth and uniform.

Close the jar airtight straight away and label it with the name, dosage and date. Done! You now have 2 kilos of laundry powder, good for around 50 washes.

Usage
Use about 40 grams per wash. Tip: an old protein powder scoop is perfect for this, weigh it once and you will always know exactly how much you need. With hard water or a very dirty load, add half a scoop extra. Wash at 40 or 60 degrees. An eco programme works too, just let it run the full cycle and skip the quick wash. Great for all your coloured and dark laundry, not for wool or silk. Never combine with chlorine bleach. Keep your jar bone dry and tightly closed.
