Would you rather not have candles based on paraffin and harmful fragrance substances? You can easily make these natural Lemon Candles yourself!

Enjoy the oh-so-summery weather outside without constantly being bothered by our smallest friends. Insects such as mosquitoes, ticks and wasps stay far away from these two scents, lemongrass and lavender!

Both scents contain volatile substances that insects would rather avoid and that certainly comes in handy for us these coming summer days!

Weigh out all the ingredients neatly and have them ready before you start.

Heat the soy wax au bain-marie until it has melted completely.

Let the mixture cool down to below 40°C.

Add the lemongrass and lavender essential oil to the melted soy wax below 40°C and stir until everything is well mixed.

Pour the mixture below 37°C into your tin and then space the 3 candle wicks apart. Won't the candle wicks stay upright properly? Try placing them between wooden sticks or a clothes peg.

Let the Lemon Candle harden for at least 24-48 hours before you light it.

After hardening, the candle wicks can be trimmed to 4 mm in length. Prevent a "memory ring" by letting the candle melt completely to the edge of the tin the first time you light it.

Usage

Place the Lemongrass Candle somewhere that children and pets cannot easily reach and where there is no direct heat source (sun, heating or open fire). And use the Lemongrass Candle outdoors only! This is because the high dosage of essential oil only applies when the candle is used outdoors.
