What is Rose Wax?

Rose Wax is a natural wax that is released when making Rose Absolute from rose petals of Rosa Damascena. During this extraction process, the solid, waxy parts of the flower remain. This is filtered into a golden-yellow, solid wax that beautifully melts in oil.

The scent is warm and full: classic rose with a sweet, lightly honey-like tone and a fresh undertone. Not sharp, but soft, enveloping and unmistakably authentic.

Rose has held a sacred place in perfumery and skincare for thousands of years. In ancient Persia, rose attar was considered the most precious of all essences, distilled drop by drop from enormous quantities of flower petals. In Ayurveda, rose is cooling and heart-opening, traditionally used to balance pitta and bring calm to skin and thoughts. Rose Wax carries that same gentle energy in solid form.

On the skin, Rose Wax forms a thin layer that helps retain moisture. The skin feels softer and less dry. Ideal for DIY lip balm, body balms, creams and solid perfume.

Note: Rose Wax naturally contains geraniol and citronellol, which are classified as fragrance allergens under EU regulations. Test on a small patch of skin first if you have known sensitivities.

How do you use Rose Wax?

Creams and lotions: Use 0.1–1% in the oil phase and let it melt gently.

Body balm: Use 0.5–3% in combination with oils or butters for a supple balm.

Lip Balm: Use 1–3% alongside a base wax for extra shine and scent.

Solid perfume: Use 5–20% together with oils and a structural wax. Melt and pour into a jar.

Perfume: Use 0.5–3% and dissolve first in alcohol before diluting.

Candles: Use 1–3% and add at low temperature to preserve the scent.

Note: Not water-soluble. Test on a small patch first if you have sensitive skin.
