What is Rosewood?
Indian Rosewood oil has a warm and lightly floral sweet aroma with a woody undertone.
Indian Rosewood is distilled from the bark of the Dalbergia Sissoo Tree. This grows at the foot of the Himalaya. It is a fast-growing tree with leathery leaves and white-pink flowers.
Dalbergia Sissoo, also known as the Himalayan Rainbow Tree, is not an endangered tree species and does not appear on the CITES list. It should therefore not be confused with Brazilian Rosewood oil, which comes from the Aniba rosaeodora tree. The Indian tree is sustainably grown and produced and has no links to deforestation.
How do you use Rosewood Essential Oil?
Never use more than 1% essential oil and always dilute it in a carrier oil or butter. For example, 1 ml rosewood essential oil in 100 ml almond oil or shea butter. Apply the oil as a massage or skin oil as needed to cleansed skin.
It is also common to diffuse a few drops of the essential oil with a fresh rosy scent in a diffuser for a relaxing atmosphere.
