Description
What is Rosemary Cineole?
Rosemary Cineole Essential Oil is extracted from the tops and leaves of the rosemary plant, Rosmarinus officinalis. The oil is steam distilled directly after harvest in Morocco, ensuring optimal preservation of scent and active compounds.
Rosemary has been revered since ancient times. The ancient Greeks believed it strengthened memory and clarity, and students wore rosemary wreaths during exams. In the Mediterranean region, rosemary has been burned as incense for thousands of years to purify spaces. The name itself comes from the Latin ros marinus, "dew of the sea," referring to the plant's coastal origin.
The scent is fresh, herbal and lightly camphoraceous with a hint of eucalyptus. It's a clear, green scent that immediately gives a clean and energetic feeling.
This Moroccan variety is naturally rich in 1,8 cineole, a compound that recent research associates with supporting a healthy scalp and hair cycle. On the skin and scalp, the oil provides a fresh, clarifying sensation. Ideal for DIY shampoo, scalp serums, hair oils, or a few drops in the diffuser for extra focus.
What are the benefits of Rosemary Cineole?
- Supports a healthy scalp The combination of cineole and camphor provides a clean, lightly cooling sensation on the scalp. This can help keep the scalp fresh and comfortable.
- Promising for hair care Multiple studies examine rosemary oil, and specifically the compound 1,8 cineole, for possible support of the hair cycle and healthy hair growth. The results are promising, though more research is needed.
- May help balance sebum production Components like alpha pinene and limonene have a mild astringent effect. This can make the scalp and skin feel less oily.
- Fresh and activating The compound 1,8 cineole provides that clear, sharp scent. It may help you feel more alert and focused.
- Clarifies oily skin The volatile compounds can help dissolve excess oil on the skin surface. The skin looks fresher and less shiny.
- Elevates blends to a higher level The herbal, fresh scent enhances other scents like citrus and mint. This makes blends lighter and fresher.
- Suitable for DIY deodorant and sprays The scent helps mask sweat odors. Provides a clean, herbal note to deodorant or room spray.
