What is Oliwax?

Oliwax is a plant-based texture enhancer and stabilizer derived from olive oil. It consists of a refined combination of hydrogenated olive oil, olive fruit oil and the unsaponifiable fraction of olive. This composition delivers waxy flakes with a soft, light plant-like scent that is barely noticeable in final formulas.

In creams, serums, balms and makeup, Oliwax builds a fine structure in the oil phase. This provides body, creaminess and stability and helps formulas remain beautifully homogeneous. The oil phase is essentially set, preventing separation and settling and keeping the texture pleasant for a long time.

How do you use Oliwax?

Dosage (guidelines):

• O/W emulsions (stability and body): 2–5%
• W/O emulsions and rich creams: 3–8%
• Anhydrous balms, sticks or oil gels: 8–20%, depending on desired firmness

Processing:

• Melt completely into the oil phase around 70 °C until clear
• Emulsify or pour further according to recipe
• Allow to cool while stirring so the gel network can form
