What is Myrrh?
Myrrh Essential Oil is extracted from the resin of various beautiful trees or shrubs that grow around the Red Sea area. This valuable resin has been collected and traded as Myrrh for centuries. In the past, it was widely used for all kinds of religious rituals. Nowadays, due to its warm and woody scent, it is primarily used during meditation.
How do you use Myrrh Essential Oil?
Never use more than 1 - 2% essential oil and always dilute it in a carrier oil or butter. For example, 1 to 2 ml myrrh essential oil in 100 ml almond oil or shea butter. Apply the oil as a massage or skin oil where needed on cleansed skin.
You can also mix a few drops through your shampoo for a lovely scent and nourished scalp!
It is also common to evaporate a few drops of essential oil in a diffuser for a wonderfully warm feeling. It works excellently for meditation. It is said that the scent evokes clarity, insight and inner peace.
