What is Camphor Essential Oil?
The fresh, medicinal scent of Camphor (Cinnamomum Camphora) reminds you of balms and ointments. Of times when doctors still walked around with herbal mixtures in their bags. No wonder there are camphor trees in China that are more than a thousand years old.
This Camphor Essential Oil is distilled from the bark of the camphor tree. Camphor oil comes in different colors: white, yellow, brown and blue. Only the white variant is suitable for aromatherapy, the other variants are not safe for body and mind.
Benefits
Breathe more freely
The scent of Camphor literally creates space and encourages you to pause and take a deep breath. Additionally, the fresh scent of Camphor has a soothing influence on the respiratory system, which helps you breathe more freely again. The perfect aroma when you could use some harmony and peace, both mentally and physically.
Slows down skin aging
Camphor stimulates the production of elastin and collagen, which can slow down skin aging. A beautiful ingredient for your homemade anti-aging products.
For muscle treatment after sports
The soothing effect of Camphor is ideal for caring for muscles after sports. Not surprising that camphor often appears in muscle oils and athletes often apply it after an intensive workout. Camphor helps you recover after physical exertion and makes stiff muscles wonderfully supple again.
How do you use it?
Due to the strong effect of Camphor, it is extra important that you always dilute Camphor Essential Oil. The amount of Camphor Essential Oil in your massage oil, face product or other product may not be higher than 1%.
Steaming
Fill a large bowl with hot water and add 1 drop of Camphor Essential Oil, 1 drop of Myrrh Essential Oil and 1 drop of Bergamot Essential Oil. Put a tea towel over your head and hang over the steam for about ten minutes, while breathing deeply in and out. You will notice that afterwards you breathe much more freely and feel much clearer. (Be careful not to burn yourself on the steam).
What is so special about it?
The camphor tree, which naturally occurs in China, has played an important role in Chinese culture for ages. Camphor has a beautiful mahogany-like color and a fresh scent. Among Asian furniture makers, camphor wood has long been a favorite and elements in Buddhist temples are also often made from this healing wood.
