What is cupuaçu butter?

Cupuaçu is a fruit that grows in the Amazon region, particularly in Bolivia, Colombia, Brazil and Peru. When you crack open the fruit you'll find a handful of seeds surrounded by cupuaçu butter.

Cupuaçu butter (Theobroma Gandiflorum Seed Butter) is extremely hydrating and therefore perfect for drier skin and hair. The scent is exotic and reminiscent of chocolate and pineapple.

Cupuaçu is bursting with essential fatty acids that are easily absorbed by the skin. A wonderful butter to moisturize your dry skin or to soothe the skin if you've been burned in the sun. At the same time, cupuaçu butter helps protect your skin against UV radiation, due to the large amount of vitamin E that the fruit contains.

Cupuaçu contains antioxidants such as vitamin A and C, which slow down the aging process of the skin. The butter keeps your skin smooth and elastic.

Hair

How do you use it?

As a lovely body butter on your skin. Optionally mix the butter with a drop of your favorite essential oil for a lovely scent and extra nourishing effect.

Use as a mask in your hair, let it absorb for a few minutes to a whole night and wash your hair the next morning as usual.

You can also use capuaçu as a replacement for shea butter, if you're looking for an even softer butter.
