What is Chili Extract?

Chili Extract is a CO₂ extract of chili pepper, dissolved in a plant-based Carrier Oil. The active compounds are capsaicinoids: the substances responsible for the warming effect of the pepper. Additionally, the extract contains carotenoids, the color pigments that give a warm tint to your product.

This extract is made for use on the body, think of sports gels, warming massage oils or scalp products. It is not suitable for use on the face or near mucous membranes.

You only need 0.03% for a noticeable result. This makes Chili Extract easy to dose and cost-effective.

How do you use Chili Extract?

• Sports gels and warming oils: Add 0.05 to 0.1% to your formula. Only mix when the temperature is below 40°C.
• Scalp products: Use 0.03 to 0.05% in serums or masks. Don't dose too high, the extract is powerful.
• Warming massage products: Add 0.05 to 0.2% to a neutral Carrier Oil and always do a patch test on a small piece of skin first.

Note: Do not use on the face, around the eyes or on damaged skin. Wear gloves when working with the pure extract and avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes.

The capsaicinoids in Chili Extract provide a warming effect that you find in so few other ingredients. What makes it truly special: it's already active at 0.03%. That sounds minimal, but at 0.2 to 0.3% you're already at the maximum. Few ingredients are so powerful in such a small amount.
