What is Alpha-Bisabolol?

Alpha-Bisabolol naturally occurs in the Brazilian Candeia tree (Vanillosmopis erythropappa). It is widely used in skincare products and cosmetics because of its floral scent and many beneficial properties for the skin.

Alpha-Bisabolol is also simply called Bisabolol or Levomenol.

Alpha-Bisabolol contains panthenol, a natural moisturizer that helps the skin retain moisture, preventing it from drying out quickly. Alpha-Bisabolol therefore helps keep the skin well hydrated. The substance penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, making signs of skin aging less visible as well.

Anti-aging properties

Bisabolol supports the maintenance of collagen and stimulates collagen production by the skin. Collagen plays an important role in keeping the skin young, firm and elastic, which means Alpha-Bisabolol contributes to slowing down the natural aging of the skin. Moreover, Alpha-Bisabolol protects the skin against harmful external influences and strengthens the skin barrier.

Masks unpleasant odors

Alpha-Bisabolol plays a role in reducing sweat odors, making it an ideal ingredient in a DIY deodorant. Add to that its naturally soft floral scent and your deo is complete!

Sustainably sourced

Naturally extracted bisabolol, derived from trees, contributes to deforestation and poses a more serious problem than palm oil production. It requires cutting down a tree to obtain this form of bisabolol, a practice we no longer want to contribute to. We have therefore switched from a natural form to a fermented form of Alpha Bisabolol. Instead, we introduce Bisabolife, produced by fermenting plant waste from the sugar industry, which not only helps reduce waste but also yields a more active variant of bisabolol than the traditional version.

Helps other ingredients absorb better

Alpha-Bisabolol ensures that other ingredients in your product penetrate deeper into the skin. Think of essential oils and carrier oils, but also vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Alpha-Bisabolol therefore improves the effectiveness of your homemade skincare product.

How do you use it?

Incorporate Alpha-Bisabolol into DIY skincare products to benefit from the many healing advantages. Add the liquid during the cooling phase of your creation process, when your emulsion is below 30 degrees Celsius. Do not let more than 0.8% of your product consist of Alpha-Bisabolol. Never use undiluted on the skin.

Alpha-Bisabolol is particularly suitable for dry, sensitive and red skin, but also an indispensable ingredient in anti-aging skincare products.

Store the Alpha Bisabolol in a cool dark place.
