Let's be real. We all want the best care for our skin, but we don't always have the time or energy to research in depth how to do it. If, like me, you want to care for your skin in a natural & easy way, you've landed on the right blog. Because I'm going to show you how to create a complete beauty routine in just three steps.
Cleansing your face may well be the most important step in your daily skincare. Unfortunately, this essential step is often underestimated. Clean skin absorbs the active ingredients of the creams and butters you apply afterwards better.
You can cleanse your skin in lots of different ways. My favourite is African Black Soap. Why? Because I think this natural soap is fantastic! This exotic dark soap from Ghana contains vitamins A and E and is super good for your skin. Vitamin A cares for mature skin. Vitamin E hydrates and improves the texture of your skin.
To cleanse your face with African Black Soap, rub the soap between slightly damp hands and then apply the lather to a damp face. For an extra deep cleanse, leave the lather on for a moment. Rinse off the soap with plenty of lukewarm water. If you want to cleanse your whole body, just take the soap into the shower with you.
Please note: African Black Soap is in principle suitable for every skin type, but it is recommended to build up its use gradually. Start with 1 or 2 times a week and see how your skin reacts.

A while ago I wrote a detailed article about African Black Soap. In it I tell you more about how the soap is made and where it comes from.
Other natural products you can use to cleanse your face include Aleppo Soap, Rosa and Palmarosa Soap and Castile Soap.
Once your skin is cleansed, you're ready for step two: toning. You really only tone your face. It removes any leftover make-up and soap residue from the skin. But if you choose a good toner, there are even more skin benefits.
That's why I use Witch Hazel. Witch Hazel is a watery liquid and is second to none at calming your skin. The first time I applied Witch Hazel I felt a difference straight away. It tightens your skin like a hair tie that just won't quite go around your hair three times. If you're using Witch Hazel for the first time, you might need to get used to the smell. Some people love it, others find it a bit musty; it's always very personal. Witch Hazel contains antioxidants and cares for mature skin. Witch Hazel also gives your skin a fresh, rested look. Let's be honest... who doesn't want that?
Since Witch Hazel is a watery liquid, it's best to apply a little to a cotton pad. Use the cotton pad to make gentle circular movements on your face. Linger a little longer on the spots that need a bit more attention. You'll get the best results with cold Witch Hazel. So keep your Witch Hazel in the fridge!

You can also use other products to tone your face. Think of Rose Water and Orange Blossom Water.
Last but not least: hydrate! This step really can't be missing from your daily beauty routine either, especially if you're over 25. Around the age of 25, your collagen production starts to drop, which makes your skin dry out more quickly. Well-hydrated skin feels supple and looks fresh. So hydrating your skin is a real must!
To hydrate my skin I use Shea Butter. This lovely butter from West Africa is easy to apply and contains vitamins A, E and F, which nourish the skin well and keep it supple. Shea Butter is packed with caring properties, so it gives your skin great support. In my experience, Shea Butter is best applied after a shower, because that's when it absorbs into the skin best. You can simply apply this butter to your face and body with your fingertips. My skin is very dry, so Shea Butter is fantastic for me! I use 1 fingertip of the butter for my whole face*
*If you have oily skin, it might be better to swap the Shea Butter for a less greasy oil such as Jojoba Oil.
You can test whether your skin is hydrated enough by pinching a bit of skin on the back of your hand and letting go straight away. If your skin springs right back into place, it's well hydrated. If your skin stays raised for a moment, it means your skin is dehydrated.

Of course, you can also hydrate your skin with lots of other products. All the butters and oils from Natural Heroes can nourish the skin deeply. Think of Argan Oil, Mango Butter or Jojoba Oil.
This simple beauty routine works wonders for my skin. I've been applying all these products every day for about a month now and I'm already noticing quite a few differences! The Witch Hazel in particular seems to have an immediate effect on my skin. My skin feels clearer and looks much firmer than before.
Either way, I'm really happy to have found an easy beauty routine that fits into my busy life and takes my sensitive skin and the environment into account!
Because I want you to have the most beautiful, clearest skin too, I've put together a great value starter kit based on the products above. In this kit we send you the three 100% natural products. All you need besides that is five minutes a day and a little perseverance.

I'm really curious about your experiences with beauty routines! Let me know in the comments which product can't be missing from your skincare routine.
