Our All Purpose Balm fits a more sustainable and greener life. It's our very first (001) finished product and special for many reasons. Read more below about this little wonder in a jar.
"All purpose" is, simply put, a product you can use for everything. It's the only balm you need to throw in your bag from now on! Apply it to your face, your body, your hands, feet, cuticles, eyebrows, eyelashes or even the ends of your hair.
The HERO.001, All Purpose Balm feels firm in the jar, but melts as soon as it comes into contact with the skin. It feels rich, but not greasy, and absorbs quickly.
In our lab in Utrecht we spent months searching for the perfect combination of wax, oil and butter to arrive at this beautiful jar of All Purpose Balm. Why? We wanted to offer a natural alternative to the regular creams and balms that line the shelves and are full of synthetic ingredients. What struck us in particular is that most popular balms and all-purpose creams have mineral oils hidden in them.
Mineral oils are a by-product of the petroleum industry. Petroleum is one of the fossil fuels that formed from the remains of animal and plant life in the earth's geological past. An enormous variety of products is made from crude oil. Think of natural gas, petrol, diesel, lubricating oil, asphalt and paraffin. Kerosene is a form of paraffin. But, if processed further, it can also be used in cosmetics.
After intensive market research we gradually discovered that mineral oils are hidden in an awful lot of products. Even the most expensive balms, which people rave about, contain mineral oils. The form we saw most often was: paraffin wax. A stable wax that has a sealing effect on the skin, which evens it out and softens it and ensures that no moisture escapes from the skin.
Right... it works. But does it also fit a natural and sustainable lifestyle? Not really. This must be solvable in a natural way too! Challenge accepted!
After months of experimenting with many natural waxes, we found the golden combination of Berry Wax and Myrica Fruit Wax. Both vegan, and together a heavenly spreadable combination with a sealing action but a light feel on the skin.
After this we looked at the further composition of the balm in the form of butters and oils. The butters were chosen for their nourishing and restorative properties, and for the texture they give to the balm. The oils in the balm were chosen specifically for skin feel and each fulfil their own role in the whole. One is a little drier, the other stays on the skin a little longer. Like a symbiosis, they care for the skin throughout the day.

The All Purpose Balm protects, hydrates and intensely nourishes the skin. It softens your rough and chapped skin, helps effectively with dry patches and reduces red spots. It cares for your hands, feet, nails and cuticles, tames your eyebrows and eyelashes and makes your hair shine again. Use the balm as a day and night cream, highlighter, mask, cleanser, beard balm, hand cream and much more. It's your all purpose HERO!
As a day and night cream
Take a small dab, about the size of half a fingertip, from the jar and spread it over your face. With daily use the skin will improve enormously and regain its healthy glow. It is also better protected against external influences and ensures less moisture loss, keeping your skin supple.
As a highlighter
For a lovely dewy skin look, apply the balm to the spots that catch the light, such as your cheekbones and the top of your lips. Especially in summer this will make your face glow that little bit more.
As a mask
Apply a thick layer of the balm to dry skin before you go to sleep. This way you use it as an intensely nourishing night mask. This gives the balm time to absorb well into the skin and do its work. The skin will repair and feel soft again in the morning.
As a cleanser
Apply a little of the balm to your eyes or lips using a cotton pad or cotton cloth and use it to remove your mascara or lipstick. Then wash your face with your favourite cleanser for the last traces of make-up and afterwards apply the balm again as an extra nourishing cream. The All Purpose Balm effectively removes make-up and cares for and softens the skin without clogging it.
As a beard balm
Spread a little of the balm over the beard and the skin beneath it. It will repair the rough, dry skin under your beard and reduce flakiness. The hairs of your beard will also feel softer. Do you love the scent of fresh vanilla? Maybe your partner does too? Kissing fun guaranteed. The Naturel variant smells lovely too, by the way.
As a hand cream
Rub a little of the balm over your hands. The balm makes your rough and dry hands soft and smooth again. It also helps care for cracks and red spots. In addition, the balm helps to repair chapped hands and protects them against external influences.
