What do you do with your empty bottles?
Empty bottles of oil left over? Don't throw them away! Did you know you can do really fun things with them? All our products come in glass bottles that you can reuse. Curious about what you can do with them? Then read on quickly and recycle your bottles yourself!
All our products come in glass bottles. We sometimes get the question of whether these bottles can be returned to us. Unfortunately, this is not possible at the moment. Of course, you can put the empty bottles in the glass recycling bin so that they can be recycled. But there are many ways in which you can reuse your empty bottles. Here are 12 ways to reuse your empty bottles. But there are surely many more!
First of all, it is of course wise to clean your bottle thoroughly. Because oil and water do not mix well, rinsing with water is not enough. This is how you clean your bottles properly:
Place the bottles in a bowl and pour boiling water over them. You can also fill the bottles with water so they don't float. After that, add Castile soap or Washing soda. Leave this to soak for 15 minutes. Then drain the water and rinse the bottles. Allow the bottles to air dry.
Tip for removing stickers
It can sometimes be tricky to remove the stickers. Did you know you can use Lemon Essential oil for this? Put a little bit of the Essential oil on a cloth and scrub away!
Okay, now for the 12 ways to reuse your bottles.
Use your bottle as a drinking cup or as a water bottle to stay hydrated every day. It's also nice for storing your homemade lemonade. Want to try something different from your standard glasses for once? Serve a drink in these bottles, pop in a (wooden) straw and you're done! And going away for the day? The bottles are also ideal to take with you.
Get started on making your own oil blends and serums. The glass bottles are perfect for storing your homemade products.
Make a glowy serum by mixing different oils together and give it away as a gift. Add a personal note and you have a lovely present for your sister, your mother, the teacher or the neighbours.
The jars are ideal to use for storage and they also look nice on the table. Especially the larger jars are very suitable for this. Use them to store your sunflower seeds, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds and the like. They are also very handy for herbs, by the way.
Do you have an empty bottle of Essential oil? Don't clean it yet, but fill the bottle with some Epsom salt and leave it to infuse for a few days. Then add this to a foot bath and you have such a lovely scented foot bath!
Do you have small bottles left over? These are much handier to take with you. Decant from a larger bottle into a smaller one and take your creations with you everywhere.
Put a flower in the bottle and set it down as decoration. So lovely in the living room or bedroom. Or outside on the garden table!
The bottles with a spray cap are ideal to use as a plant sprayer. This way you can give your houseplants a mini shower. Especially tropical plants that are used to high humidity do enjoy a little moisture. And at the same time you make sure no layer of dust is left behind. Handy!
Use the bottles as a candle holder. A dinner candle (made of beeswax or soy wax) looks beautiful in a bottle. Of course, you can decorate the bottle first.
Use empty bottles to store your zero waste products. Homemade liquid laundry detergent, washing-up liquid or a DIY all-purpose cleaner? Very handy to store in here.
Do you ever make a herb oil from olive oil? You can do this with fresh herbs or dried herbs. And these bottles are ideal for storing them. Maybe add a nice little label, so cute!
