Do you know which skin type you have? Every skin is unique and therefore needs different care. To know which skincare is suitable for your skin, it is of course important to know which skin type you have. And that can be quite tricky. In this blog you will read all about the different skin types and how to determine your skin type.
Are you looking for the right skincare products? To be able to make a choice, it is important to first determine what your skin type is. There are four main skin types: dry skin, normal skin, oily skin and combination skin. This is determined by the amount of sebum the skin produces.
It can be quite tricky to determine your skin type. To find out what your skin type is, cleanse your face with a gentle facial cleanser and then wait 15 to 30 minutes. Don't use any products after cleansing. After this, assess your skin.
Normal skin is healthy skin that is neither too dry nor too oily. Normal skin has a fine pore structure and a smooth, radiant complexion. The care for this skin is aimed at keeping the skin balanced.
Dry skin often feels dry and rough, and can be prone to irritation. Dry skin can be characterised by flaking, red patches and a tight feeling. This skin type needs extra hydration.
Oily skin is shiny and often has coarse pores. This skin type has high sebum production and can be prone to spots and impurities. This skin needs regular cleansing and products that reduce sebum production but do not dry out the skin.
Combination skin is a combination of dry and oily skin, usually with an oilier T-zone (forehead, nose and chin) and dry cheeks. This skin type needs specific products for both the dry and the oily areas of the face.
As well as the different skin types, there are also various skin conditions you need to take into account when choosing your products.
This skin is characterised by spots and blackheads, caused by clogged pores. This skin needs a good cleansing routine aimed at reducing clogged pores
This skin can be red, sensitive and flaky. You may also react more quickly to certain products. It is important to protect this skin well.
This skin is thinner, less elastic and less hydrated, and is characterised by wrinkles, fine lines and a dull complexion. Skincare mainly focuses on hydrating and firming the skin.
