Description
What is Vitamin E Oil?
Vitamin E Oil is a concentrated antioxidant and an essential addition to virtually any homemade skincare. It protects the skin against harmful external influences, nourishes and soothes intensively, and at the same time prevents the oils and butters in your DIY recipes from going rancid too quickly. Our Vitamin E Oil is golden yellow to light orange in color and syrupy in texture.
This version contains 70 percent tocopherol, derived from sunflower oil. The oil in this concentration is the most commonly used form in DIY cosmetics and is suitable for both processing in formulas and for pure use on the skin in small amounts.
What is the difference with our Full Spectrum Vitamin E?
We have two Vitamin E oils in our range.
This 70% Tocopherol version contains alpha-tocopherol, the best-known and most researched form of vitamin E. A fine choice for DIY cosmetics as an antioxidant and for general skincare. Well available in larger packaging.
The Full Spectrum Vitamin E Oil contains all eight natural forms of vitamin E (four tocopherols plus four tocotrienols). Tocotrienols are a rarer group of antioxidants with broader antioxidant action. A fine choice for those who want more than just alpha-tocopherol, for example in a serum or intensive facial care.
Benefits of Vitamin E
Powerful antioxidant
Vitamin E protects the skin against free radicals and helps slow down the aging process. With regular use, the skin can look more supple and smoother.
Nourishes and soothes intensively
The rich, syrupy oil helps calm dry or irritated skin and makes it feel soft. Also nice for sunburned skin.
Softens scars and stretch marks
Vitamin E has long been used to soften scars and stretch marks and help them fade.
Keeps DIY products fresh longer
Vitamin E prevents oils and butters in homemade cosmetics from oxidizing and going rancid too quickly. A truly indispensable ingredient for those who work a lot with natural oils.
Stimulates the skin
Vitamin E stimulates collagen production and skin cell renewal, which benefits skin structure.
How do you use Vitamin E Oil?
In your DIY products as an antioxidant
Add 0.5 to 1 percent to your total product. For 100 grams of oil or cream, that's 0.5 to 1 gram of Vitamin E. A small bottle will last a long time.
Pure on the skin
Apply a small amount to cleansed skin and massage in until absorbed. Due to the syrupy texture, you can better combine it with a lighter Carrier Oil like Jojoba Oil for easier spreading.
As an eye serum
Apply a drop with a fingertip to the skin under the eyes and gently pat in.
On scars and stretch marks
Vitamin E oil is often applied to fresh scars or stretch marks to soften them and help them fade.
In a night treatment
Mix a few drops through your night cream or night oil and apply before sleeping.
Tips when using Vitamin E Oil
- Store in a cool, dark place. Always close the bottle tightly after use.
- Test first on a small patch of skin before using the oil for the first time.
- The oil may be red to orange in color due to natural carotenes. With pure use, this may leave a light yellow or orange mark on the skin, which absorbs naturally.
- The texture is syrupy. Combining with a lighter Carrier Oil makes processing easier.
Points of attention
Vitamin E Oil is intended for external use on the skin. When in doubt or with sensitive skin, test first on a small spot and wait 24 hours. Keep out of reach of children. When using on fresh wounds or after surgery, consult your doctor first.
