Description
What is Vitamin E Oil?
Vitamin E Oil is a concentrated antioxidant and an essential addition to almost any homemade skincare routine. It protects skin against harmful external influences, nourishes and softens intensively, and at the same time prevents the oils and butters in your DIY recipes from becoming rancid too quickly. Our Vitamin E Oil is golden yellow to light orange in color and has a viscous texture.
This version contains 70 percent tocopherol, derived from sunflower oil. The oil in this concentration is the most commonly used form in DIY cosmetics and is suitable for both processing into formulas and for pure use on the skin in small amounts.
What is the difference with our Full Spectrum Vitamin E?
We have two Vitamin E oils in our range.
This 70% Tocopherol version contains alpha-tocopherol, the best-known and most researched form of vitamin E. A fine choice for DIY cosmetics as an antioxidant and for general skincare. Readily available in larger sizes.
The Full Spectrum Vitamin E Oil contains all eight natural forms of vitamin E (four tocopherols plus four tocotrienols). Tocotrienols are a rarer group of antioxidants with broader antioxidant action. A fine choice for those who want more than just alpha-tocopherol, for example in a serum or intensive facial care.
Benefits of Vitamin E
Powerful antioxidant
Vitamin E protects skin against free radicals and helps slow down the aging process. With regular use, skin can look smoother and more supple.
Nourishes and softens intensively
The rich, viscous oil helps soothe dry or irritated skin and leaves it feeling soft. Also great after a day in the sun.
Cares for skin with stretch marks
Vitamin E has long been used in the care of skin with stretch marks.
Keeps DIY products fresh longer
Vitamin E prevents oils and butters in homemade cosmetics from oxidizing and becoming rancid too quickly. A truly essential ingredient for those who work frequently with natural oils.
For supple skin
Vitamin E contributes to supple, smooth skin texture.
How to use Vitamin E Oil?
In your DIY products as an antioxidant
Add 0.5 to 1 percent to your total product. For 100 grams of oil or cream, that is 0.5 to 1 gram of Vitamin E. A small bottle thus lasts a long time.
Pure on the skin
Apply a small amount to cleansed skin and massage in until absorbed. Due to the viscous texture, it is better to combine it with a lighter carrier oil such as Jojoba Oil for easier application.
As an eye serum
Apply a drop with your fingertip to the skin under the eyes and gently pat in.
On stretch marks
Vitamin E oil is often applied as a care treatment on stretch marks.
In a night treatment
Mix a few drops into your night cream or night oil and apply before sleeping.
Tips for using Vitamin E Oil
- Store in a cool, dark place. Always seal the bottle well after use.
- Test first on a small patch of skin before using the oil for the first time.
- The oil can be red to orange in color due to natural carotenes. When used pure, it may leave a light yellow or orange mark on the skin, which will absorb naturally.
- The texture is viscous. Combining with a lighter carrier oil makes processing easier.
Points of attention
Vitamin E Oil is intended for external use on the skin. If in doubt or with sensitive skin, first test on a small patch and wait 24 hours. Keep out of reach of children. If using on fresh wounds or after surgery, first consult your doctor.
