Citric Acid is an organic acid that occurs naturally in citrus fruits such as oranges, lemons, mandarins and limes. In lemons and limes, Citric Acid makes up about 8% of the whole. But this acid is also found in other foods such as berries and some vegetables like lettuce and tomato.

How do you use Citric Acid Monohydrate?

As a cleaning agent

Citric Acid works excellently for cleaning all kinds of things. It is also effective at removing soap residue, hard water stains, limescale buildup, lime and rust.

As a preservative

Citric Acid is a natural antioxidant often found in soaps, conditioners, shampoos and skin and hair care products. It is often combined with Potassium Sorbate. Together they form a powerful preservative.

What is the difference between Citric Acid Monohydrate and Anhydrate?

Citric Acid Monohydrate contains water while Citric Acid Anhydrate consists of less than 0.5% water.

Citric Acid Anhydrate is therefore also known as 'anhydrous Citric Acid'. This anhydrous Citric Acid has a purity of more than 99%.
